HuffPo’s Sam Stein on John Kerry confirmation: ‘What up swift boaters!’!/samsteinhp/status/296371799317430272

For the record, the official headline over at the Huffington Post announcing Sen. John Kerry’s confirmation as Secretary of State is simply, “John Kerry Confirmed As Secretary Of State.” That’s doesn’t quite convey the same excitement as the tweet by HuffPo’s political editor and White House correspondent Sam Stein: “WHAT UP SWIFT BOATERS!”

@samsteinhp Unbiased media? Anybody?

Voting is the best revenge, isn’t it? Not that the media were rooting for Kerry, that is. But we suppose if you’ve been waiting since 2004 for your chance to recycle some old material, all caps is the way to go.

Many Senate Republicans were against John Kerry influencing foreign policy before they were for it.

NBC News’ Luke Russert calls Kerry’s career “quite the journey,” and even includes an anecdote on the subway portion of Kerry’s trek.

Quite a journey for Kerry, from his loss in ’04 that made Obama a household name, being passed over for HRC in ’08 and now Sec of State

Rode the Senate Subway w Kerry & body man Jason over to confirmation vote, I said, “almost over” he responded “or just beginning.”

Let’s see if the New York Times’ Jonathan Weisman can give us an analysis of the international implications of today’s vote.

Cruz, Cornyn and Inhofe vote no against a sitting Senate colleague. Don’t think they’ll get invites to the State Christmas party.
